An injury to welterweight fighter Jon Fitch has enabled Kenny Robertson to return to the UFC octagon as he will step in and take on Aaron Simpson at UFC on Fuel 4 in July in San Jose, CA.
Following his release from the UFC, Robertson’s manager Nick Thompson said it was extremely difficult to find fights due to his record and reputation.
“We got a couple of fight offers, somebody will call me looking for a 170lber, and I’m like we’ve got Kenny Robertson, we’ll take it for the money they’ve offered so we’re not arguing about anything like that, then the opponent will say ‘nope’,” Thompson said.
Robertson is coming off a knockout victory over fellow UFC veteran Lucio Linhares last October.

UFC middleweight fighter, Aaron Simpson is looking forward to stepping into the octagon against Jason “Mayhem” Miller at UFC 132, and says the fight came at the perfect time for him.
“He’s someone who obviously has a lot of fights and has fought a lot of big names. It’s perfect for me. It’s the perfect time for me to fight a big name on an unbelievable card. I felt so great about my last fight. Just my training and everything was right on, and my game plan was right on. I feel like I’m still in the upper echelon of fighters at middleweight and I can beat all of them.”
“I already know the game plan. I already know what I’m going to do and how it’s going to be done, how I’m getting my hand raised. We’ll scrap the entire 15 minutes. Fans are going to have to be excited about that. Anytime ‘Mayhem’ Miller fights, people get excited. I feel the same way about me. That’s the type of fighter I am. Fans know that I throw my hands and I don’t just try to lay there on somebody. It’s going to be a good one.”
It didn’t take long for the UFC to find a fight for Jason “Mayhem” Miller for his return to the Octagon. He will take on Aaron Simpson at UFC 132.
Miller just confirmed his new deal with the UFC on Friday after spending the last few years in several different promotions including Strikeforce and Dream.
Miller has been out of action since last September when he picked up a win over iconic fighter Kazushi Sakuraba in Japan. Meanwhile Aaron Simpson is coming back after a dominant performance over Mario Miranda in March.

Middleweights Patrick Cote and Tom Lawlor are scheduled to meet at UFC 121. The event takes place Oct. 23 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, and is headlined by a heavyweight tilt between current champion Brock Lesnar and challenger Cain Velasquez.
Lawlor could be fighting for his octagon future in Anaheim. “The Filthy Maulor” has dropped two consecutive UFC bouts, a narrow split decision against Aaron Simpson and, most recently, a submission loss to Joe Doerksen at UFC 113 in May.
Cote returned to the octagon at UFC 113 in May to face Alan Belcher. The French Canadian was holding his own until the standout striker planted him on the mat with a near-spike and cinched a quick rear naked choke.
Having a background as an All-American wrestler is a great base for mixed martial arts, but don’t tell Aaron Simpson that he can’t do more than just wrestle. The former Arizona State competitor and coach returns to action this weekend at “The Ultimate Fighter” finale show to face Chris Leben in a middleweight match-up.
“Everyone’s like, ‘Are you going to take him down? Are you going to get in there and try to take him down?’
