Forrest Griffin Injured, Withdraws From UFC 114

An injury to former UFC light-heavyweight champ Forrest Griffin (17-6) has forced the fighter to withdraw from his upcoming UFC 114 bout with Antonio Rogerio Nogueira(18-3).

According to MMAjunkie.com, Griffin suffered an undisclosed injury during training from sources close to the fighter. No word as to whether a replacement is being sought or if Nogueira will simply be removed from the event, but sources indicated that Nogueira is hoping to fight on the card.

UFC 114: Jackson vs. Evans is set to take place on May 29 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Griffin is coming off a split decision win over Tito Ortiz at UFC 106 after dropping two fights to Anderson Silva and Rashad Evans. While Nogueira is coming off a KO victory over Luiz Arthur Cane in his UFC debut, making it six in a row for the Brazilian.
