FORMER UFC LIGHTWEIGHT PHILLIPE NOVER SIGNS WITH BELLATOR
Former UFC lightweight fighter, Phillipe Nover, has signed with the Bellator Fighting Championships promotion and will debut in November against Polish fighter, Marcin Held.
Nover posted the news on Twitter Sunday evening.
Nover was released from the UFC following his third straight Octagon loss in February of 2010. He suffered defeats at the hands of Rob Emerson by decision at UFC 109, Kyle Bradley via TKO at UFC 98, and to Efrain Escudero by decision in the TUF 8 lightweight final.
BELLATOR 49: SEASONS 5 WELTERWEIGHT TOURNAMENT – RESULTS
Bellator Fighting Championships opened up it’s 5th season last night with the opening quarterfinals of their welterweight tournament. The tournament included bouts between Chris Lozano vs. Brent Weedman, Ben Saunders vs. Chris Cisnero, Luis Santos vs. Dan Hornbuckle, and Steve Carl vs. Douglas Lima.

CHRIS HORODECKI SIGNS WITH BELLATOR AND IS SET TO DEBUT LATER THIS MONTH
Former WEC and UFC lightweight, Chris Horodecki has signed with The Bellator Fighting Championship and is set to debut later this month for the promotion’s first Canadian event, Bellator 47, against Chris Saunders.
Bellator 47 will be the first event ever held by the promotion in Canada and is scheduled to take place on July 23 at Casino Rama in Rama, Ontario. The event will feature the featherweight semi-final bouts of the “Summer Series” tournament.
Horodecki is 3-2 in his last five bouts, having won his last fight after his release from the WEC last December.
Saunders is a California product who has won seven straight fights, with his most recent victory coming in April.
